Southbank Road should be blocked off with bollards (only accessible by bicycle or on foot) at the junction with Cemetery Road to prevent rat running to the Lidl roundabout.
Cyclists should be able to cycle down Chapel Street - at present this is illegal and so cyclists are forced onto the surrounding and often dangerous roads.

Move the cycle path off the seawall and take some of the massive of pavement for a properly cycle path near the road. Current path is used by pedestrians and is regularly blocked by chairs etc while also covered in sand.
The cycleway is barely wide enough for two bikes as it is, one side is overgrown and the other is mainly loose stone. Very easy to clash handlebars with bikes going opposite way. But it's also used by pedestrians, widen the whole thing. ... [more]
Narrow cycle track, but the rough bit to the side assists with passing. No use for overtaking though (see #54912).
25 miles to Liverpool, 24 minutes to Formby, on the same sign! Also, no path across the grass between the cycle track and the road for the right turn.
The breakaway path is actually unnecessary since the gate has a bypass accessible directly from the main path See also #54859
Abrupt end of cycle track, just where motorists will be looking the other way. Narrow footway continues into Formby to the left.
The NCN62 connection between the canal path and Ormskirk Road is via a flight of steps, although a wheeling ramp has been provided.
