Cycle track too narrow to overtake!

Narrow cycle track, but the rough bit to the side assists with passing. No use for overtaking though (see #54912).

Southbound, the transition from cycle track to road is straightforward

The lack of a stopline across the cycle lane I guess means cyclists going to the cycle track can pass on red. The sharp corner could have been avoided by taking a cycle track passed the other side of the signal post and such ambiguity would ... [more]

The cycle route leaves the parallel road to run alongside the A59 on a cycle track.

Give Way to oncoming vehicles which you can't see. Maybe I should have taken a photo of the car reversing back as I was putting the camera away!

Route sign for the same route as in #54664 directing cyclists up a no through road. Maybe the ultimate destination of the route is on this road.

Route sign with an emblem but no destination on it. Sorry, I missed the start of the route, so don't know where it goes. And unfilled ditch across start of path.

Mileages on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal

Canal access from Marsh Lane is via a spiral staircase

A narrow path under bridge, with poor sightlines. Not an unusual problem with canal towpaths.

Canal path of variable quality on NCN62, at bridge narrowing

The NCN62 connection between the canal path and Ormskirk Road is via a flight of steps, although a wheeling ramp has been provided.
